I have an rb 133, 2.9.40. One back haul 5ghz to main area, and then 2 2.4ghz Access points.
The 5ghz is out, i accidently changed the anteanna port on it. however i can connect via 2.4ghz to the ap-bridge interfaces via serveral different mt access ponts i have around the area, all get very good -76 or better signal, but NONE can mac ping or mac telnet into either of the two itnerfaces.
The router is rebooting every 20 mins as it can not ping its gateway and watchdog is set to do this…i can confirm the reboots are happingng as well?
what could ever cause this?? why can i atleate mac ping AP bridge interfaces?
thats not the issue. re read my post. antennas or pols. is not the issue. the APs are all the same antenna…all the equiment is the same.
the cards are R52s on the back haul, and XR2s on the APs.
again this entire setup works fine, all i’ve done is changed the Antenna port of the back haul, causing the WDS not to be able to connect…and all hell has broken lose. I would say the MT just needs a restart..but it keeps restarting itself to no fix. I guess i’ll have to take a trip out to it.
THERE is NO reason this should ever ever happen!
Ive seen this before though so its not something unique to this board. There is nothing that can be done at layer 3 to stop mac pings or Mac telnet so its not a firewall issue (this is a basic config btw)
this is real mess… I went to the site..plugged it..turned antenna port right..everyting works.. but i still can not get into this box if the WDS radio goes down…no sense at all, i should be able to connect to an AP bridge and mac telnet in and do my configuration as i’ve done plenty of times. Every one in a while, i have a MT box that will reject mac pings…
WHY can NO MT devcie, when connected to either of the TWO AP bridges i have, do any mac pings, or mac telnet?
I have two bridges on this MT box, connected to an AP on either..no Mac Ping.
EDIT:
A TEST: I just turned off the WDS int. the device keeps rebooting every 10 min or so…two xr2’s two AP bridge interfaces, I connect in station mode from any of my other AP’s no mac pings…nothing. only way back into this box if by plugging in ethernet..this should never be the case.
