no support for freq. above 5825 for RB711-5Hn-MMCX

i see there is no support for freq. above 5825 for RB711-5Hn-MMCX

in India following is the case…

Use of wireless equipment in the 5.825 to 5.875 GHz.- Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, no licence shall be required by any person to establish, maintain, work, possess or deal in any wireless equipment for the purpose of low power Wireless Access System, including Radio Local Area Networks, in the frequency band of 5.825 to 5.875 GHz with the Maximum Effective Isotropic Radiated Power and maximum power of transmitter as specified in the Table below, namely:-

Frequency band : 5.825 to 5.875 GHz

Maximum power of transmitter : 1 W (30 dbm) in spread of 10 MHz or higher

Maximum Effective Isotropic Radiated Power : 4 Watt peak or 36 dbm

how can i overcome this issue and use all freq. from 5825 to 5875 ??

help!!!

What is the issue exactly? Simply set the wireless card to use one of the allowed frequencies (5.825 to 5.875 )…

hi normis,

thank you for looking into the matter.

in the drop down menu for selecting frequencies i have no option beyond 5825.

5825 is at the end of the list.

did you set wireless mode to “regulatory domain” and country to “India”? if no, please do so, and the dropdown list will contain frequencies allowed in India.

hi normis…

i tried what you said.. still no luck :frowning: screenshots attached below:

although when i shift to SUPERCHANNEL i can see a lot of frequencies… but when i switch to any more than 5825 on both the link fails…

please help.

.
i think u have configured a ptp wireless transparent link using MPLS/Vpls, if so then u cant use those frequencies which are not marked as BOLD or in dark black in frequency list.

hey thanx for the reply…

but that sounds strange… :open_mouth:

ji haan sarkar mere saath bhi aisa he hai…

this is wrong!

if your link fails, it means that the other end of the link doesn’t support the selected frequency. what device is on the other end? if it’s a mikrotik device, you need to also configure scan-list in it.

RB711-5Hn-MMCX at both ends.

Link does not fail.

No frequency beyond 5825 in the dropdown table.

in this case, other frequencies are not allowed in India. if you think the list is wrong, email mikrotik support with a document that shows which frequencies are allowed in india.

@normis i have one such kind of link and FYI the hardware is exactly same on both ends one end is configured as bridge while the other end as station(as mentioned in tutorial in WIKI) and i can also see all frequencies in drop menu when i select superchannel, both end has a goove5 and a 5.8 27 dbi grid antenna..even the cat5 cable is of same company and even the POE and adaptor are same too.
Regards..

i have sent and email with the attachment of the notification to support@mikrotik.com as directed.

i am also uploading the file here.
