I hope somebody here can assist, I’d like to exhaust options before returning this item as dead.
If I plug into ports 2-10 I get no DHCP, when I try to console in (using a cisco cable) I get garbage from the console port & the USB port simply does not enumerate at all.
The only reason I don’t think the device is dead is that the LCD seems to work fine, I think the touch sensor is awfully calibrated though, it takes tonnes of attempts to get it to do what is desired. I managed to get it to reset configuration, but this didn’t help.
I’ve tried netboot, however the device just never shows up.
Connect to port 2 and run Winbox, click on the Browse button (looks like […]) and see if it finds your router. If yes, click on the MAC address and connect to it.
I had this happen a FEW times while experimenting with routes/firewall rules and locking myself out. I was able to reconnect using Winbox on a windows pc and the MAC address(in the ip field of winbox with colons) on the bottom of the router (secure mode is needed i believe) while plugged into port 4 or 5. Wine for linux, for some reason wouldn’t allow the MAC connection, but does run winbox fine when the router is reachable via tcp/ip.
micro usb port on this unit is NOT client port - you do not connect this to PC, but connect peripherials to this port (using for example usb otg cable)
