Noise floor

Hi,

If the noise floor is reporting -100 and surveys show little noise can that information be relied upon?

For example if I have an issue with an AP signals are good but users are experiencing some kind of problem can we bank on it not being interfeirance based on Noise floor etc readings.

NO!

Ha Ha  Thats what I figured. Care to elaborate at all?

MT does not see non-802.11 noise very well. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

My worst noise problems show as degraded RSSI in 900, and often just show as bad bandwidth tests and dropped associations in other bands.

Thanks. Do you know of any low cost tools for finding other sources of interferance?

I think its more the cards can’t see non 802.11 type noise instead of Mt . Maybe a member of a local radio club would have the gear needed ? Would be well worth your while paying him for a day of scanning here and there

Also there are some kind of spectrum analyzer.
I’m thinking of buying one of that, because I’m having a lot of environmetal noise.

Regards.

what’s ideal for noise-floor -99 than -102 ?

thanks friends for your time

the lower, the better - so -102 is better than -99 but this is small change

Small change?
I remember you that -102 is the HALF of -99!

here is a little spectrum analyzer
