I have noticed every few weeks or so thers a new version of code that contains fixes, updates, and expantions. I would like to suggest releasing code that is fully working without expantion sets and calling them general release code or something.
Specificly I’ve been told if there isn’t a new feature you need to use then dont’ upgrade. Ok, but then I read the patch notice and I see fixed x, fixed y, fixed z, added xx, added yy. Then a few weks later fixed yy.
So how about a release of code that is fully working without the added testing modules so you most likely don’t need to upgrade to fix them due to a securty risk a few weeks later?
release something that is fully working? your request is understandable, but impossible. have you seen any program that is fully working and free of bugs?
by the way, all new features go into v3, v2.9 adds only fixes. we don’t add anything to 2.9 anymore.
No really havn’t seen a program that is fully working.. mostly because each time there is a bug fix released, they releast new features that have additonal bugs in them.
But good to know your only doing bug fixies in 2.9 now. I’ll probibly stop at the last one before v3 for a little while
Just that I have some units up on high towers and if they fail to upgrade and just go wacky it’s very costly to go up to get them. So I don’t like upgrading that offten. But I get equally worried when I see patch logs that state a major securty fix has been issued and you need to upgrade…
Thanks for the good answers on the fourms lately. I have had several of my questions answered quite well lately.
that was the whole point of v3/v2.9 relation. now with the new license policy, everyone can upgrade to the latest and greatest 2.9 and stay there until a satisfactory v3 release is made. those who need the new features, can upgrade to v3 (which of course involves some risk).
