Hello, I have written this in the general forum before but after a week I have still not received an answer. So I decided to try it in this forum instead. I do not mean to spam and if I’m doing something wrong feel free to correct me.
Right of the bat I will say that I am still a beginner in the wonderful world of mikrotik routing and If there is need for further information that is required to resolve my Issue, then please do not hesitate to ask me and I will reply to the best of my abilities.
It is a work related issue and I have not build up the configuration. It is a collection which has accumulated over the past 10 years. And I only started working in that company a few years back. We basically are the ISP of the office building we are in.
Now,
I have an RB2011UiAS routerboard and I have 10 external IP addresses which I guess is not necessarily needed for now.
4 Interfaces are being used at the moment which is:
Public - our gateway
Local - Our internal network
and 2 slaves for Public
So I am trying to cut out our external AP and move wireless to be handled by the Routerboard because of stability issues of the AP.
On one of the 2 slave ports we have our LAN network which works flawlessly on 192.168.0.1
Now I need wireless to be connected to that LAN network.
I have tried setting up an individual IP address using 192.168.0.1 and configured a dhcp server. My boss said I should connect wireless to an interface (I picked Interface 5) which I did by using a bridge.
Connecting to the wireless Network I have set up I do receive IP addresses from the DHCP server but I have no Internet Access.
I tried Working with the Nat but nothing seemed to work trying to connect it do the gateway interface.
My boss doesn’t want me to bridge the gateway with wireless because then the Firewall rules would need to be changed as well. And there are a ton of those. And we can not have that downtime for our clients at the moment.
So Is there anyway to do this without affecting the Firewall rules too much?
Thanks in advance!
