Hi,
Since today i’ve been using on my bgp router ros 5.2 with multi-cpu=no
Today i have upgraded it to 5.7 and turn on in bios HT.
And this is the resoult: http://prntscr.com/39vv9
Not goood - one core has 100% and other is boring.
This situtation is on downloading prefixes.

I think that is a feature. While the BGP process is glued to one core, the other core can handle traffic.
why do you use multi-cpu=no if your cpu have two core?
Missunderstaning - now (on 5.7) multi-cpu=yes
On previous ROS versions i was not sure that this will work so both ht and mcpu was turned off.
Interesting. So one CPU has 100% of usage (and possibilyty of having some errors) and 2nd is doing nothing - grate feature

I’d look at that differently. There’s no chance that a BGP peer flapping while there’s a lot of customer traffic through the router is going to lock up all cores leading to severely degraded customer experience.

p.s. is it possible to process bgp data loading in parallel threads?..
p.p.s. they suggest not to turn HT on
