not getting DHCP addresses on second and third wireless AP

I have verified client setup:

2 additional VAP have been setup along with additional vlans.
I can connect to each additional but I am getting loopback addresses from both and unable to ping across the segments.

I have also configured matching the ports on the 1200. for dhcp.

Equipment is Rb1200 and RB411ah.

Any help would be appreciated as I am new to Mikrotik equipment, but not new to wireless setup.

Thanks,
Bruce

Unable to ping, even with a static address? That has nothing to do with DHCP.

DHCP is GIVING you a loopback address? That sounds unlikely.

Do you actually have a DHCP Server on those additional AP’s? It won’t magically work across multiple interfaces, you have to setup DHCP server on each interface, or bridge them together, or do something intentionally.

best of my knowledge 169.254.x.x., when attached to VAP2 and authenticated is not a valid returned address and also has no GW information.

DHCP Server setup and running with ip pool of 10.10.x.x assigned to one and 10.11.x.x to the other. once connected to either VAP1 or VAP2 both respond the same way.

cannot ping even after assigning hard cabled device to an ip with the range after connecting to either VAP with wireless device.

Also, on another note. I cannot telnet to the RB1200 from desktop that is hardwired and can ping the RB1200 and also the RB411ah. Telnet client says connection refused.

The RB/OS version is 5.6 but not sure if updating to current would even resolve as I have not been able to find others with this issue.

169.x.x.x is assigned by your operating system when there is no dhcp server. It is not assigned by the Mikrotik.

You have deeper issues that the DHCP server. Until you can ping the Mikrotik interface, don’t worry about the dhcp server.

Have you specifically assigned an IP address to the VAP interface on the router? If so, you should be able to ping it. Make sure you have assigned an IP address SPECIFICALLY to the VAP.
