Not so good reception

Hi,

I have my MikroTik CRS setup in my office. With my old dd-wrt router I had good reception in all rooms in my apartment, and a little reception outside.
Now with the CRS I have limited reception is some rooms and no reception at all outside. I would like to improve my wireless connection but I do not know where to start.

This basically is my wireless setup:

Does anybody have some good advise how I can improve my reception without burning my router’s wifi card :wink:

What was the model of the device you were using before with good reception?

could you check if you change the country from Netherlands to united states do you get better reception?
Also Try to position the antennas differently.

My previous router was a Linksys WRT320N with DD-WRT installed. With this router I always had good reception through the apartment.

I have my antenna’s in a 90 degrees up position. My apartment is 1 floor so I think this is right.

I configured the Wireless interface to united states but that doesn’t seem to improve things.

Sorry for my bad english.
Several conditions, for normal connect:

  1. line of sight between receiver and transmitter.
  2. wifi antenna should be placed in more than 15 cm of the refleting surfaces (beton or iron wall).
  3. Try to reduce the transmitter power, this reduce noise level in appartament and encrease quality signal

Mikrotik unlike other vendors installed in routerboard highpower wifi card and in default configuration transmitter power set is max.
