I just put 2.9.24 (x86) on a production router, upgrading from 2.8.28, in order to get some better firewalling. I did not load routing-test, nor has routing-test ever been on this box. Prior to this, everything I had running 2.9.24 was MIPS.
To my surprise, the Routing Filter winbox screen (ala routing-test) was available, and does seem to work (at least having it add a route-comment to the everything in ospf-in worked). And, the new multi-instance BGP settings window is available as well.
So, I was thinking that routing-test had become the standard package, but only on x86 (the rb500s running 2.9.24 do not show either, without routing-test). But the real surprise was the command line, /routing is still the old system (single BGP, prefix-list is there rather than filter, etc…).
So, I tried it on another x86 box, same thing.
So, is this the way it is supposed to be (both seem to work, somehow)? Is this just an odd way of starting the move of routing-test to routing? Or is something wrong?
I don’t want to call it a bug, since it seems to work just fine, but this is really odd.
