Nstream question

will a Nstream AP work with non nstream 802.11b/g radios.

hi,

answer is the same as for question : will karlnet client work with standard 802.11b AP? Nstreme is modified wireless protocol, it just uses the same frequency (physical layer).

quess what the answer is…

bye, mp3turbo.

if I set up an AP using Mikrotik running nstream will a Smartbridge ABT radio associate with it?
also will it associate 802.11b and g off the same radio?

there is ONLY one thing able to associate to nstreme AP on this planet : microtik nstreme client.

once again : the only thing able to use nstreme is mikrotik server and mikrotik client. The only one means there are no other

so to answer your question : NO.

No radio will EVER associate to mikrotik nstreme AP.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry if you thought it was a dumb question,
But no need to be an … :frowning:

hi grifter,

no problem, you’re welcome. I just thought the answer was clear from the first post as Nstreme is own and unique child of this company - nothing in 11a, 11b or 11g mode will associate to it and I think that regular devices will NOT even scan SSID from Nstreme APs.

They could only see some form of ‘noise’ as Nstreme is broadcasting - similar to what Trango devices will show you. They can’t see 802.11a devices although they operate in 5GHz band, but they see and report noise on appropriate channels.

bye, mp3turbo.

Hi MP3Turbo2,

That ansers my questio quite well and my next question.
Thanks again
