I’ve segments running without nstreme I want to move to nstreme.
Changing this would require to change all clients and then the
AP. If I cant reach a client while doing the move it is disconnected
after changing AP to Nstreme.
If the clients could do nstreme autodetection I could switch nstreme
on and of at the AP without loosing clients.
IF mikrotik would add this feature, you would still need to upgrade all clients and turn on this feature. This would be the same as uploading the auto.rsc file to all of them, which you can do already!
I could upgrade all clients as I can reach them and then I can enable Nstreme.
Do you see the difference? In a real world situation you never have all clients online.
Some are offline due to power savings. Some owners are on vacation and powered
down the client. I have installations where customers have the choice to select
a tower to connect to. So it’s nearly impossible to do the move to nstreme without
a lot of trouble.
As upgrades may bring other improvements it is a job we’ve to do anyway from
time to time.
Another situation is where someone wants to test nstreme. He simple can enable it
on the AP and disable it if he sees that it doesnt do the job in his special situation.
