nstreme in AP-bridge mode

hi guys
I’m dying to have nstreme work on my p2p link, because my link is in fact Multipoint-to-Multipoint at this moment.

any idea?

thanks

Nstreme works fine between MikroTik RouterOS AP - station routers;
If you are using WDS and Nstreme, then AP - station-‘wds’ scenario is required.

but the virtual AP won’t work on Station-WDS mode, will it?

No, station-wds mode does not work on Virtual AP.

is it planned to add in next version? it is very important for us, I am even willing pay extra bucks for this feature

it is not possible to make Virtual AP on the interface that is running Station-wds…

then how come Asus can do it their access points just by upgrading firmware?
are you saying this is basically impossible action or is it just limitation of mikrotik routeros?

please be more specific what setup you can archive using your Asus AP and what can’t you do with RouterOS AP?

Correct me if I’m wrong, Virtual AP provides multiple AP, as it written on the posted link.

  • different SSID might be used;
  • different security-profile might be used.
  • Virtual AP uses the same channel as master-interface wireless interface.

“several AP with different SSID and different security settings (but same channel) can be handled with the same Broadcom radio”

Posible Hellbound want to say feature call universal repeater I see this on Realtek and Broadcom based AP.
You conect to another AP in client mode or pseudo client(MK v3) and also create virtual AP interface on hardware interface. This alow work like client and AP using one hardware interface and one channel.
This is something like WDS but you need to setup WDS on master AP. I tested little on some Broadcom based AP its work but not is true bridge don’t pass client MAC address.

you are right:

  • plus you can set built-in ap as client to connection to another AP
  • enable nstreme over virtual client to achieve faster speed
  • make virtuals work regardless of the original wlan mode.
  • you can add dual-streme with two destination.

link you provided (and one further hop) did not reveal these wonderful features you just described.

so point me us (forums users) to place where we can read feature list, maybe some examples of configuration.

that allows:
a) in virtual mode set station if parent is AP
b) enable nstreme over virtual client to achieve faster speed ( as nstreme is proprietary protocol owned by mikrotik and as far as i know, no one has sold it)

c)you can add dual-streme with two destination.

and btw, what is dual-streme didn’t you mess it up with dual nsrteme, that also is proprietary protocol owned by mikrotik ONLY. :unamused:

and what sergejs wrote was translated these features we can find in your links in terms of mikrotik RouterOS
