Some suggestions for the NTP client/server package:
- allow some more external servers. at least 4, but ideally just an “unlimited” list.
- provide an option to open managament queries to one or more specified subnets (default none)
I don’t know what implementation is behind this package (reference ntpd, chrony, other?) but in
ntpd this management query option would be setting a “restrict” option line. Default should be
set to only allow time queries (as it is now), additionally management queries (ntpq -p, ntpq -c rv)
would be allowed from e.g. a monitoring system.
