NTP server with GMT DST

I’ve read the post from 2004 regarding setting up DST to work correctly with NTP server but it seems there isn’t a way to do this. If anything has changed is it possible to set DST to work correctly with NTP server, as some of my HP1910 switches don’t have DST in the firmware so I would like to dish it out from the Router end.
Thanks

Works for me, i just downloaded the NTP package for my RB the other day and applied it.

I’m asking about the GMT DST offset and how to apply it to the NTP server.

You don’t. NTP serves UTC; it’s up to the clients to make local time out of it.

Dang, hes right LOL. I just checked on my RB I set the DST under System Clock, not the NTP server.
Sorry bout that.

I thought so, I know its good practice to use UTC and then offset, ok will have to be an hour behind till October.

Thanks

Too funny, why not just use a time zone that correspondingly gives you the time as if DST was working LOL.
No one is forcing you to use the correct time zone LOL

Quite a few switches and cameras that don’t play ball with nvr time and logging in every 6 months to change against DST is another job hence that’s why I was asking.

Time zone is always set on the device. NTP just helps to correct the time.

Hence why I was asking if you read the first post.

And my reply to that is you cant. NTP only sends UTC format. Its up to each device to stets the correct time zone.
If that can not be done on your devices, some I find very strange, you should complain to that hardware manufacture.

How is DST activated in the mikrotik?

By setting appropriate timezone in /system clock. Can even be in form /, e.g. Europe/London for GMT/BST.
