NUC connects with hAP lite via Swith only. w/o switch: no link. MDIX-problem?

I have a hAP lite in bridge mode connected with two PCs and an upsteam router. An Intel NUC NUC8i5BEH works only if connected via Switch. If I connect NUC directly to hAP the cable test shows “no link”. Looks like auto sensing / MDIX problem. As soon as I connect a switch in between it works. How can I check which end causes the issue?
