Number of devices

Hi everyone,

I am interested in knowing the number of devices that you are monitoring. I have been using The Dude for some time now in small scale. I have looked through the “show us your map” section and have seen hundreds of devices being monitored. My question is: What is the largest map?? I have the possibility of monitoring a network with a few thousand devices… will The Dude handle it?? All I really need is traffic stats. Don’t need to worry about resources or anything else, just traffic.

I can add as many agents as necessary to help out with polling. Do agents send info back to the main Dude server??

I would say just start building it, don’t let things auto discover or go into the settings and only allow a single service to be discovered. If auto discover runs for a couple thousand devices the dude will automatically add many services to each device…

Building it by hand would take a long time but you will be able to determine when things start to become too much for a single computer.
Then add an agent but I don’t have any agents so I am not sure how they will combine.
