I am thinking about getting a CCR router to act as a PPPoE server. Does anyone happen to know how many PPPoE sessions this unit can handle? Is it capable of 16,000 simultaneous sessions?
On our test in april with over 900 sessions on CCR1036 ROS 6.11rc - it works well, but performance was ~ 3-5Mbit per session.
Today i use 3 x CCR1036 with ~ 400 pppoe sessions each.
I think CCR can work well with about 600 pppoe session now.
Who can say the same about this experience?

The response I got to my ticket was 1000 Sessions.
Just 1000? So it doesn’t worth for this.. A Dell R210 can handle a bit more than that (PPPoE+dynamic queue+1 MSS rule) even on version 5.25.
My case was with MPLS + VPLS + OSPF. I am sure it can handle more in a more simplistic conf.
