Hi,
I would like to know if the NV2 protocol has the aes-256 encryption at this moment. I have seen in the past that it was aes-128 only, maybe there is an update that I haven’t found.
Thanks

NV2 have it’s own encryption.
According to the Mikotik forum last modified 7 June 2012 the security in NV2 was
Security in Nv2 network
Nv2 security implementation has the following features:
hardware accelerated data encryption using AES-CCM with 128 bit keys;

I just wonder if thing have change to 256 bit keys, because I need it.
You have another NV2 device from other productor with 256 bit key and you want the two device compatible between eachother?
you can always run IPsec over the link, to increase security.
nv2 is proprietary protocol, what will the person do even if he breaks encryption?
Thanks! I’m gonna look at this in detail shortly.
It’ just because it’s a requirement from our customer.
Normis,
Are there any updates to the NV2 AES encryption to 256Bit? We lose customers because this is not available.
In 2014, you said to use IPSec tunnels. Do you have a script for PTMP tunnels as this is beyond my expertise.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Normis,
It’s been 5 years since my prior request for 256bit NV2… IPSEC is too slow on MIPs…
What is the plan?
