I have a PtP connection and when switching between NV2 and NSTREME is an extreme difference in transmission speed and quality link (CCQ). Is it an explanation? A few years ago it was with wireless protocol on the contrary. Today it’s like. So everywhere we recently set NSTREME because NV2 is worse. Where is the problem? It’s not only one PtP connection where the problem is.

same frequency, same setting, same place. Switch nstreme to nv2 (TDMA 2ms or auto… no difference) only. Repeatable.
Nv2 was better than nstreme on older hardware. Since .ac or event RB9xx series, nstreme is better. So it might be the hardware. Anyway, wireless is the rarest updated by mikrotik. Wireless development seems to be halted since a long time.
I read lod time ago tha5 NStreme was developed for PTP Links and NV2 was upgrade for better support to PtMP links.
Anyway, I see that the develop of wireless link at Mikrotik is “Stopped”.. Cambium, Mimosa and Ubiquiti has better products for wireless links right now.
Nstreme and Nv2 are very different things for different purposes. In specific circumstances you would choose a different protocol. If Nv2 does not work, use Nstreme. Or the other way around.
The answer was really not satisfied. Why in previous versions NV2 PTP functioned reliably and Nstreme not a current situation is the opposite? It is no coincidence bug in the software? That’s just not possible what with the wifi mikrotik lately shows. Bother me that the wifi doing nothing. No progress. UBNT wifi currently enough leads. Soon we will have no reason to continue mikrotik.

Like I said, for some situations one is better, in other situations, the other will work better. There is no magic protocol for all scenarios.
For example, when using v6.19 and NV2 (CCQ 100% / 100%) works better than Nstreme (CCQ 70% / 70%) on the same board. In v6.37 it’s the opposite. Why? The same PTP 5 minutes later, when changing the firmware. It seem right?
Same problem on PTMP nv2 or Nstreme. 20 clients with rate 130Mbit CCQ99-100%. The maximum transfer rate for a single client 30-40Mbit. It’s alright?
You can enlarge Framer Limit Nstreme up to 16000? Nstreme much lost speeds above 100 Mbps. 802.11n has to 8192. Have you ever thought about that?
You have to test it yourself, there is no answer for that.

I always just test both and stick with the one that yields better throughput. Lately, with 802.11AC, found Nstreme performs better, and sometimes MUCH higher throughput.
They say NV2 for TDMA on PtMP should handle many clients better than Nstreme, but now with AC we want more throughput so…
Also noticed bugs with Stations re-regging quite often on PtMP. I’ve only been using for PtP and was thinking of testing PtMP due to the higher TX power on Netmetal, but nervous how Nstreme will handle 30+ stations connected
