NV2 with .ac

While testing between a SXT AC SA and SXT AC indoor I see plain 802.11ac is working more reliable and faster than nv2.
Just do UDP tests between this two units. With 20 MHz both protocols are stable but plain .ac is 20MBit faster. With 40MHz channels nv2 spikes up and down while plain .ac gives reliable 250-280MBit/s one way.
Seems nv2 needs some tuning for .ac.

great. which also means outdoor PtP links won’t do well at long distances. did you try Nstreme as well? what F/W are you running? I can’t wait to see the Pthroughput on Nstreme when linked at 866/866 data rates! :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

I really do not see much point in using nv2 in a ptp link, leave alone an indoor one. NV2 is better suited for alleviating the “hidden node effect” and bandwidth share problems which exist mainly in PtMP topologies, especially outdoor ones. In these cases, the benefits arising from the ise of this protocol most probably outgeigh any observed drawbacks.

This is not to say that nv2 could not benefit drom some futher tuning… :slight_smile:

Nstreme was much worse than nv2. I have no luck with nstreme since 6.x Used the newest release available.

Yea but outdoor links won’t work in plain 802.11 over 5 miles. And Nstreme is working better with 6.17 its fixed but u have to enable the wireless-FP!! Try it out, its 100% better almost like it used to be. And NV2 boosts more throughput than standard 802.11 like Nstreme but with higher latency.

Nstreme is great, but the latest versions were mostly unusable due to frequent disconnections. @wispwest so you tried nstreme in v6.17 or v6.18 and is good now ?
Still waiting to get my hands on some .ac products and if nstreme is working good it will be dream come true.

ac needs wireless-fp.
