Odd Power Issue

I have recently been having issues with routerboards and places with dirty power. For example, I have a site that no matter what you do, if you plug a POE or AC adaptor in outside, you will not be able to access the unit, it will turn on and beep, but it will not link up with WDS or let winbox access it via Ethernet or Wireless at all. If you take that exact same setup and plug it in inside, it works just fine. We’ve been installing these at many sites for a few months now and every so often, something like this will happen. So, I just want to know if there is a POE injector/AC adaptor/routerboard that can compensate for crappy power in situations like this or is there something else entirely that I could be doing. I tried using 2 completely different UPSs at one site. It seemed like it worked at first, but then the boards and radios would end up getting fried after 1 or 2 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PS, I did a little bit of research on the forums and I didn’t see any posts like this, so I apologize in advance if this has been answered before.

Hi,

if you are using a UPS and the problems still continue.. perhaps the problem isn’t the power. It could be a lot of radio interferences? The Ethernet cable? Connectors? Board or minipci?

I suppose that is possible. I did re-connectorize the cable and tried a different one just in case. If it is radio interf is causing it, could it be messing with the poe or something, because the unit works in the exact same spot out side, but when it’s plugged in inside. It’s just really odd.
