Office Wireless Problems - High Latency, Disconnects

I tried to configure 6 mikrotik routers ( CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD ) in my office, and i can’t seem to get it work properly.

Usually, between my router and clients the icmp response time is somewhere between 200 and 1000 ms.

Clients got disconnected too often. Especially the iOS and Mac OSX clients.

My environment is like this: I have 6 mikrotik devices, and about 100 users connected to them.

I have them on 2 floors, floor 5 and floor 6, 3 on each floor.

I want to know what should I do so my Wireless clients stay connected for at least 8 hours and have lower response times.

Please note that this is the current configuration. I changed every single setting in my devices and I am trying since 1 month ago to make it work.

Also, please note that everything is open-space, signal is full.

I have tried even with default settings, reset settings, etc, nothing helps.

I had 6 pieces of TP-LINK before, in exact same locations, configured almost the same, and they worked fine, 10 times better than Mikrotik devices. I assume Mikrotik should be superior than 30$ cheap TP-LINKS.

Any advice would be great !

Try using the spectrum scan and frequency usage to find the clearest channel.

If you also want roaming capability then set all the radios to the same mode, band, channel width (basically all wireless settings the same) and turn on WDS to dynamic with WDS default bridge none.

Also, why don’t you use CAPsMAN to manage the AP’s?

If you do not use capsman, try set frequency “auto” that APs can choose good channel (and differ from other APs (interference)).
Try to switch to capsman. Fast roaming is very good.

Don’t forget to lower the tx power as the mikrotiks are much more powerful and sensitive than your previous devices so they can easily interfere mutually their signal… You cannot blame the devices for misconfuguration or bad design of your network.

And yes, 20 is very much for such small distances
We should choose the optimal value, but hardly it will be more 16-18
