Official Discord

We are working on a Discord server. If anyone wants to help, or maybe just look around and participate, while away from the forum

Forum stays, no worries.

Icon on the left side is nearly invisible. Make it white and not grey.

It’s intentional. Dark and mysterious.

I think you took the wrong medication this morning…

I think this a good move. Even though I more prefer good docs… Discord seem to be the things these days and already had to use for some other OSS.

Although I’m not sure about #suggestions-box — do you really need more feature requests, in more places?

A much better icon

Jotne, what is that thing?? - a table with a hole in it… oh thats a pop-up sewing machine space, how clever!

I think its the new logo for MT :upside_down_face:

Oh I get it, the gap will be filled in when they add Zerotrust Cloudflare tunnel as an options package for all devices.

Discord. I will enter NOW! Thanks for it. :star_struck:

Too chaotic for my liking…

Forum vs Discord like BBS vs IRC… Discord can be too much noisy if there isn’t a lot of channels for specific topics, good for realtime problem solving/collaboration but this forum is also pretty responsive when asking right questions.

Concur, for the odd time one wants to discuss something its excellent. Sometimes typing is a pita…

How do forum and discord compare in this aspect?

Because discord has voice and video LOL

Although I spend more time on skype than discord… Anytime you want to take the plunge LOL

I think this is a good addition for MikroTik as long as the forum stays. Discord lends itself well to deep technical discussions/debates that are harder to have in a forum and it’s a little more fun on the interaction side (gifs, reactions, ec).

But the forum is still my top choice for technical/support threads that need to be indexed for everyone to be able to search over the long term.

I just joined as @stubarea51

Yeah, on discord you can’t advertise your website with every post, sad for biznis.

MikroTik Mikro Tip Host a webserver on your router using CONTAINERS! mentions Cloudflare tunnels, so let Druvis know your feelings about it with a comment.
