Old LTE6 vs new LTE7 modem

What's the point of getting LTE7 modems ?

For LTE6 (R11eL-FG621-EA): there's public information (from Fibocom), support (AT-commands) on other forums, works from -40°C to 70°C, 3G - 11.2Mbps Uplink, consumes 3W.

For LTE7 (R11e-LTE7): no public documentation, it's unclear which chip has which command system (AT-commands), works from -10°C to 55°C, 3G UL: 5.76 Mbps, consumes 5W, and tech support doesn't answer questions about its specs (when asking about choosing between LTE6 and the new LTE7 modem via Log into Atlassian - Support , the response was that they are a manufacturer and wholesaler, and for clarification on LTE7 specs or the ability to enable certain options without public documentation and with an unclear chip, they recommend contacting local certified consultants) — for example, how to disable channel aggregation (leaving only the primary band), or how to disable Circuit Switched Fallback for incoming voice.

For LTE6, these settings were taken from Fibocom forums.

Weird model – some parameters are worse, there are no commands (that you can’t set up through standard RouterOS features).. the only difference is in UL speed (and even that isn’t achievable in real conditions) when aggregating channels ? Or what’s the point of this (worse – chip, operating conditions, power consumption, much less documentation) model ?

The main difference between LTE6 and LTE7 is on supported CAs:

I have no information on R11eL-FG621-EA, but for example

R11-LTE6

R11-LTE7

Yes, the FG621-EA has fewer options for aggregating different bands
