Omnitik in 2.4Ghz?

I would love to see an omnitik in 2.4Ghz. I am currently using the 751u but I have industrial environments and the omnitik is a better fit (if it was 2.4Ghz). Also, I would love to have the omnitiks antennas over the 751u. High output power in the 751u is useless to me with such low gain antennas.

Me too

useless to me with such low gain antennas

one chain you can replace with much larger gain antenna, as the device has a MMCX connector.

Thanks normis. The outdoor enclosure of the omnitik is also highly desirable.

What about the Groove then? Use any antenna, and it has an outdoor enclosure. It’s also very small.

the groove doesn’t have a built in switch. I could use an omnitik 2.4Ghz as a soho router in my industrial environments with high gain dual polarity antennas.

I can put something together to do this but I would need a 493 + enclosure + wireless card + 2 antennas which is easily $238. Additionally, the OmniTIK is designed to mount to just about anything quickly and easily where a metal boxed 493 would be a little more effort and still wouldn’t be as tough.

The OmniTIK 5Ghz is $89, so if a 2.4Ghz was similar the savings would be quite good.

I would also add that an OmniTIK is auto-WDS and HWMP+ in 2.4Ghz would make a nice little mesh node too.

+1

I am using 5ghz ubiquity as backbone and mikrotik RB433 as hotspot and routing. Save me efforts of making up a routerboard wirelesscards, lmr cable, antennas etc.

Please make a 2.4 if possible.

Brazil also requests a Omnitik at 2.4Ghz.
The two antennas may have 10dBi or 12dBi.
Would be a great product!

With 8 dbi would be great.
It would be a great competitor for the Ubiquiti Unifi.

And it may easily win the competition, actually
