Omnitik or Groove

Hi,

I’ve a setup where a site is at the side of the area to cover.
I’ll plan to replace the Rb500/Mars Omni with 2 dual pol
sectors 90 degree. And as backup and for near customers
I’ll add an additional omni.

Customers are all vertical pol + some SXTs.

What performs better. A Groove with a 10db Mars Omni or an
Omnitik with it’s 2 7.5db Antennas.

Do this small Omnitik Antennas perform well?

Stefan

I’d think the MIMO would help more than a single 10dBi, but I’ve been using the same polarity antennas on mine with vertical offset.

I’m curious how this will turn out.

Btw, I don’t know about the Omnitik, but the Groove has little shielding, if you have other 5GHz equip on the tower it will likely interfere.

I would go to Omnitik.

Dual antenna/polarity/chain. It can reach higher speeds and will give you the benefit of multipath effect, working better on near line of sight.

Omnitik shows slightly better signal than the 10db Mars Omni on a R52. So this small Antennas are quite good.

Very interesting.

For small scale installations OT is very useful.
At this site we use it to reduce the amount
of users connected to the 2 Sectors.
Of course the incoming signal at the
sectors is much better.

Keeping the users below 20 gives a great
user experience even at high usage times.
