omnitik u-5hnd +MikroTik SXT 5HnD or GMT-517VE - range?

Hello i wanted to ask you, if is it really possible reach connection with these router boards for 5Km, or tried it someone in rel life ? I saw a lot of videos like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKZ6sEFYZz4 (2min:08sec) Do you think that, it is possible ?

Ok , and if will use omnitik u-5hnd + StraightCore Mikrotik GMT-517VE ? I need to soleve this problem:

At the roof of the building 1. is omnitik u-5hnd. At the building 2. I want to have a StraightCore Mikrotik GMT-517VE. GOOGLE Earth says that the distance between this 2 buildings is 0,27 Km. I tried to connect this 2 rb, but without success. I think that, it is for building 3. But Im not sure, because Im newbie here :smiley:. Maybe I can try to move the StraightCore form the window - on the roof and move it more on the right side, but then I will need more of STP cable. But what if I wil need 120m of this cable, will it works ?
But the main question what i want to ask is:
Will it works (that connection between omnitik u-5hnd and StraightCore Mikrotik GMT-517VE for 0,27km or maybe 0,3km) ? I presonally think that it will, but I need to “hear” it from somene, who is better in it, who is more professional, I want to be sure. :smiley: Or do you think i should buy that MikroTik SXT 5HnD?

Hello,

Guess you have solved this case. If not, I am sure that two omnitiks will connect together at 300m distance. I personally use them connected each other on 400m distance at connection speed between 250-300mbit/s. Real throughput about 40mbit of TCP (but probably limited by CPU speed as traffic generator consumes too much resources).

Anyway, for PtP links are better devices you should use, e.g. SXTs…

Its possible with sxt if you have a los, but not with 2 omnitiks
