OmniTIK UPA-5HnD help -- What is the default WPA2 Passphrase

Recently installed an OmniTIK right out of the box with factory default configuration. I can see the default configuration SSID “MikroTik-25D59B” and connect to it, but what is the default wireless password?

Thanks,

Brad

Password is the Serial number on the sticker.

(But according to instructions on the box, you must configure the unit from the LAN side through QuickSet. )

So, I’ve since found this:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Default_Configurations

It appears the default Wireless Passphrase is the serial number of the OmniTIK. If you can’t MAC-Telnet into the OmniTIK via the WAN port and you don’t have physical access to the OmniTIK to look at it’s serial number then it seems you are out of luck.

Any other way into this radio to configure it before I have to go outside and pull it down?

Sure wish MikroTik’s default configurations allowed MAC-Telnet on the WAN ports. This is becoming a pain…even the RB2011’s have MAC-Telnet turned off on port 1 by default now.

Thanks,

Brad

We already changed the default config to not have a password in the future.

For this one, try this 4C9C04EED7F4

I have an Omnitik with default configuration located on top of a tower conected by eth1 and don’t have serial number. How can I get de WPS2 passphrase to be able to access via Wireless? SSID is MikroTik-225E71

Is there a reason to prevent removing of default security profile from the config? I consider it as security risk to have such settings active and do not allow to disable/remove “*default” values manually by administrator. I need to change the values in it and then not to use it, but it is not elegant…
