Hi,
I’m thinking of using one RB912-5GHz with a 5GHz miniPCI-E radio, so I will have two radios on the same device, I would like to know if it’s any way to use only one antenna for both radios? I’ve been thinking of cavity filters before each radio, to only allow specific frequencies…what do you think? Any suggestion?
You need a high quality powered splitter with isolated outputs $$$. You are going to be much better off if you just get a second antenna.
I´ve also tried this few years ago with dual nstreme. Never worked really good and it was very expensive.
Not sure a cavity filter is suitable as they are a notch filter which attenuate frequencies they have been designed for, maybe you mean a bandpass filter which will allow certain frequencies to pass.
Thank you for sharing your experiences ![]()
I think I’m gonna use 2 antennas, one for each radio ![]()
Hi,
BTW: if you want to use two radios with only one antenna you should look for diplexer. It is something like two narrow filters. It should work but you will not be able to change channels without replacing (retuning) the diplexers. Goot diplexers are not cheap…
