Hello ,
I have a strange issue
I have open port 8080 in the wallgarden (I don’t have proxy enable) - and everything is working
but wehn I open port 8090 ot 8081 I don’t see “Hit” and when I scan the port I get - “Timeout”
but after I Sign to the hotspot i get replay from the port (I have try 8090 and also 8081)
why is that ?
and how do I resolve this problem?
If you look in the NAT rules that are created for the hotspot, you will see that the router tries to redirect ports TCP 80, 3128, 8080, and 443 to itself on a different port that the hotspot service uses. Then in the filter rules it accepts connections from those ports.
So when you try and connect to port 8080, it gets redirected to the hotspot, and that is why you see it as open. Now to more specifically answer your question, what services are you trying to enable or allow, and how are they connected to the network? Just because someone can communicate to a port doesn’t mean there is a service listening on it. If there is no service listening on a port then scanning it will show no results. Depending on your answer will determine what steps are needed to allow those services pre-hotspot authentication.
I have a computer connected to the hotspot that listen to the port (8081) ,
something like another webpage for managment ,
so the issue is only to do some pre-hotspot filrewall rules
