OPEN VPN With Goldefrog Service, could not connect

Hi Everybody,

I hope some one could share some feedback on my problem,

Im using Mikrotik RB951Ui-2HnD/FW6.34

I have attached terminal and OVPN Interface images.

I cannot connect to this VPN provider, I was wondering is something is missing in my configuration, or is goldenfrog just not compatible with the current OPENVPN features of Mikrotik firmware.

Do they use compression on openvpn ? if yes no chance with Mikrotik.

Example config from linked page contains “proto udp” and “comp-lzo”. So double no chance.

So what are my alternatives? wait for MKT to add UDP and Compression support on the firmware, or use a different router? and OS? change VPN service?

They said they work on udp for RouterOS v7. Hopefully that also includes compression. But no one knows when it will be released. It might take month, year, two years, …

If you need it now, you can install full OpenVPN in OpenWRT metarouter. Looking at RB951Ui-2HnD specs (enough RAM and storage), it should be possible.

Perfect, I can do that for the users that PPTP is not working, or is inconsistent until MTK adds support for UDP, and Compression, or maybe GoldenFrog will do something custom for my Users, I Understand now that in order to be compatible I need to use TCP and no compression.
