openvpn not reconnecting

I’ve noticed that after openvpn server has been rebooted, client didn’t try to reconnect (openvpn-client interface was up all the time), so connection was dead until I manualy disabled/enabled openvpn-client interface.

on the other hand, when my client lost route to the server and openvpn-client interface was disabled manualy, server didn’t notice that and I couldn’t connect client again until I’ve manualy killed old openvpn-server interface on server.

is there any way to set openvpn server to drop disconnected client and openvpn to reestablish disconnected server session?

I have identical problem.

same thing happened to me few days ago, but i didnt want to write anything…taught i didnt set it right…

today it happened again:

3 ovpn clients were connected through wifi and internet for couple of days.
server and all clients are mikrotik 3.15.
server and one client are custom made x86 box. other clients are rb450.

suddenly (I wasn’t changing anything, I wasn’t evey logged in), ovpn connections dissapiered and their addresess in address list became red.
tried to disable/enable ovpn client interfaces on clients. no results.
tried to disable/enable ovpn server on server. no results.
logs showed that clients were trying to connect but were disconnected by server.

reboot of server solved all by one connection problem.
one client could not login.
I was able to see new ovpn interface on server but instead of it was .
reboot of that client solved that last problem.
