JcM

you can read about it on their forum

   why would you do that?

yes, it’s not so easy, plus the RB433 already comes preinstalled with a RouterOS license, which gives you technical support and guaranteed compatibility.

…and is much better than openwrt.

support dont think so

if you ask for somthing all you get is a answer like cant load own apps onto the routerboard
or the router board is made for routing its not a server thats why thay want to get it to work with openwrt so that can make the board work the whay thay want it to work or need it to work and with openwrt it can be dont

yes mikrotik is a very good os but it has its limitations to it aswell

becouse at mikrotik thay look into it but if thay see no use for it thay wont work on a way to add it like me i like to have sqlite on my board and thats why i use openwrt now!it takes a lot to get it up and working but at the end its worth all the trubles

mikrotik should look into open source
thay might sell more boards to people that use the for custom!i mean look into vibe me product for voip and ges what open wrt already sapports the code for it!
a sagestion from my side is that mikrotik would make a custom release board!
