os load failed noe kernel load failed

Hi

I tried to upgrade my rb1000 from 3.1 to 3.25 it got half way through the process and crashed.

Now the rb 1000 does not show up in win box

Now i am assuming something corrupted so how can i restore the OS…

I have netinstall hooked up a lan cable a serial cable i set the net boot to 192.168.1.222 which is not used

I open Hyperterminal …I hit enter to enter th menu…I hit “0” for boot device then “e” for etherboot…then I hit x

it then comes back with this

RouterBOOT booter 2.18

RouterBoard 1000

CPU frequency: 1333 MHz
Memory size: 512 MB

Press any key within 2 seconds to enter setup..
trying bootp protocol…

… failed
kernel loading failed

I have read and read the forums not seeing anything to get the OS loading back onto this unit.

I am sure it is just my lack of knowledge.

I have also tried to reset the boot configuration and i get this back

RouterBOOT booter 2.18

RouterBoard 1000

CPU frequency: 1333 MHz
Memory size: 512 MB

Press any key within 2 seconds to enter setup..
loading kernel from nand… OK
setting up elf image… OK
jumping to kernel code
Starting…
/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: 21: cannot create /var/run/utmp: Cannot allocate memory
System halted.
System Halted, OK to turn off power

thanks for your time in advance

HI All

here is the update…i got it to work.

I believe the issue was my PCMCIA nic card seemed to be confusing the OS and it worked when I unpluged the card.

HOWEVER At the same time I noticed the .dll file that it tells you comes with the net install download was not there …downloaded it from a 3rd party site and put it in the same dir …any rate all works now.

thought i would post how I got it to work in case others have the same issues
