All,
I currently have the following setup for a new pop we are doing
My problem is I can not get OSPF to establish across the VLAN. If I move the IP and OSPF to one of the physical ports I can get it to establish, but not totally. The routes do not get exchanged. I can reproduce this on other locations.
The 2011 at the top is just a managed VLAN switch. Here is a compact export
Even with setting your OSPF interface type to P2P, it will still use Multicast…the only advantage is that it stops doing the DR/BDR election.
I would try setting my interface types to NMBA(nonbroadcast multi access) and configuring some OSPF neighbors. This will kill multicast and switch all communication to unicast.
CCR1009 with a DAC cable into a CRS326 switch.
5 vlan on the SFP port.
I am not able to start OSPF on vlan interface.
I can ping the remote end, I see it in ip neighbours but OSPF doesnt start.
what I am missing?
Make sure all of the parameters match on both ends:
network type (broadcast / ptp / etc)
IP network / mask
OSPF settings such as hello, hold down, timers, etc.
IP MTU on the interfaces
Make sure neither router has their interface into the network set to passive=yes
I have checked it 10 times.
Network type ptp
I can ping the remote ip
I am replacing a CCR with another CCR in a tower to seperate backbone with access layer.
all conf build from scratch by hand.
I have interface UP, instance running but no packets on VLAN interface where the OSPF is in.
From the logging I see OSPF hello sent on the VLAN interface.
I have the SFP+ in trunk mode with a CRS326 switch…
I am almost sure 100% that the problem is not in the CCR but in the CRS
here is my config.
The CCR is connected via SFP+1 to the SFP+2 of the CRS with a DAC Cable.
On the switch I have:
port 7 untagged vlan 201 (going to a remote router via a licensed microwave link)
sfp+2 trunk port.
