OSPF and ethernet issues

Does your OSPF lockup ethernet ports?

  • Yes (my ethernet ports will randomly lockup and I have to reboot)
  • Yes (my OSPF will flip routes, don’t know the reason)
  • No (My network is working. I have 200+ Mikrotiks)
  • No (My network is working. I have 1-200 Mikrotiks)

I troubleshot OSPF for some time now. I have noticed 2 issues.

1st. OSPF randomly flipping paths. One path is down and the other path takes over. I had no errors in wireless or ethernet.

2nd. (worst) OSPF will randomly kill the ethernet port. The only way to get the ethernet port working again is to disable and reenable the ethernet port or reboot the mikrotik.

I removed OSPF from my whole network and both problems are resolved 100%. Today I just tried putting OSPF on 2 mikrotiks and the ethernet port locked up in 6 hours. I rebooted then.
