OSPF over IPIP

Hi guys.

I’ve an IPIP tunnel between two locations and tried to set up OSPF between the nodes so I don’t need to worry about static routing rules at one of the peers.
Unfortunatelly this does not seem to work even though OSPF handshakes are clearly sent between both the peers.
Do I need a layer 2 link for OSPF to work ?
Any ideas/suggestions ?

Have you tried L2TP instead? I know that we tried OSPF over IPIP once, and couldn’t get it to work. Replace with L2TP, and bingo. shrug Anyone know if it is not generally possible to send multicast IP over IPIP? Maybe that’s the problem…?
