Here is a diagram dumbed down to what I really need to know. I have 3 areas here what I thought was the correct way todo this.
A1- 0.0.96.45 distributes default route within A1
A2(interconnect between the networks)- 0.0.21.98 connects A1 to A3 with a /30
A3- 0.0.75.18 distributes default route within A3
Now, here is my question I don’t want A3 default route in A1 and vise versa. But say I break connection between RT1 and RT2, RT2 picks up A3 default route and when I reconnect it. It will never get back the default route for A1 that its supposed to have. I would have to reboot RT2 route for the route to come back up as it supposed todo. All I want is to have communication between the two networks locally if that make sense. This is of course not the entire network, but I didn’t think that information was really relevant sense all they do is receive default routes and connected routes of the entire network which I would like to it to just have the default route very confusing :S. I think I have given enough information for someone to inform me how I can stop the default routes outside the area.
