OSPF takes much CPU resources

How much OSPF/RIP takes CPU resources??

I’m having difficulties setup RIP/OSPF using slow machines e.g 266mhz geode (wrap)
traffic goes down when RIP/OSPF updating the routes…

any solution besides static routing??

I’m using 2.9.23 test router w/ routing-test package

I would also like to know if OSPF is the cause for CPU spikes on our server. Should we be using routing-test and not routing package?
