OSPFv3 prefix filtering (distribute list)

Hello,
we are thinking about implementing IPv6 to our network. After several tests i made on mikrotik, I found problem with implementation. When i use prefix delegation, any prefix-delegated route becomes as static. Static route is problem, because this route is directly installed into OSPFv3. So.. someone with lots of duid can destroy whole network (create lots of route informations). Are you thinking about implementing OSPFv3 prefix-list to prevent this issue?

Many thanks.

We are told that ospfv3 filtering is not to be expected before V7.

Any news on this MT? Is the V7 plan the definitive answer or whats is hindering you fixing filtering for ospv3 deamon?

Huh this is cool. We are waiting for v7.. for maybe 2 years. And until it will be released, we cannot implement IPv6 correctly in our networks. Shame :frowning:

OSPFv3 routes can be fildered in default OSPF chains. However you cannot change to different chains as it is in OSPFv2.

Ohh MRZ! This is new to me as when I asked its not implemented at all. What you now say if i use the default ospf chain (even though i can’t point to it in the instance) it will be used.
This I will test directly.

When did this start to work? And why the confusion from MT staff?

Could be that question was asked how to set their own OSPFv3 filter chains, and answer was that such feature is not implemented.

Yes. That was the question. The answer was right one, that is not what is in question.
But a proper response would have been something like (ie: not holding back vital information in the query at hand):

Even though no chain is selectable (this is not implemented yet earliest version for this is somewhere in the V7 line) the default ospf-in and ospf-out chain is consulted for ipv6 in ospfv3.

Just saying. Not be able to read up on the quirk in Wiki didn’t help me in the right direction until your mention of it in this thread. No hard feelings just pointing out that the backwater information would have been very helpful and perhaps a more proper response to my initial question. Thanks for this new clarification this means I will be able to do stuff I have been waiting to do.

Yours /J
