Override PPPoE Radius queues for specific networks

A little background: We are using PPPoE over wireless for a long time. We use radius to set speeds for the customers, and it works very well. We are expanding our network to include customers off of fiber connected buildings.

Now the issue: We want to provide a “short-cut” routing path to specific address ranges. (Private peering) that is not subject to the PPPoE queue limits, but is limited to a different rating.

For example, user abc can surf anywhere at a 3Mb/s, but when they go to our backup server or network core, we want them to have 10Mb/s of speed. Is there a way to classify traffic that will override the dynamic PPPoE queue?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Dan, right now it is possible only with static queues, to set different QoS politics for the different networks (dynamic queues should be disabled).

It would seem to be a nice feature for those of us who want to offer special services like remote backup or priority access to our VoIP server.

Thanks

Dan

What exactly do you mean? The static queue needs to be above the dynamic, but by no means do you have to disable it.

this works just fine… we have a number of data backup users doing exactly this… just create a simple queue with the dst-address of whereever you want to allow them faster access to, and move it to the top of the queue list in winbox… this takes effect almost immeaditly.
