I’m trying to test various VPN solutions supported by mikrotik routers.
For each, I create a new pool, profile and secret.
Profile is declaring local IP and referencing the pool.
Exactly the same thing is done for SSTP, PPTP and OVPN (on a non-standard port that is, however, whitelisted in firewall)
All three establish connection, however local/remote address fields are empty for OVPN.
No NAT is used, just routing (and it seems to work fine for SSTP/PPTP).
I’m sorry I do not know how to share configuration script as I’m new to this stuff and have created all that via GUI.
Mikrotik’s Version of OVPN has been abandoned for years.
When I first started with RouterOS 10 years ago… OpenVPN was the first thing I had to “Give up on,” using Mikrotik. I think i can find the exact post where I asked about OVPN being updated to work with THEN CURRENT standards. “Next RouterOS release…” was the response.
Like I typed… 10 years ago.
Tik to Tik… I use L2TP+IPSec. This works well if one side or both have Dynamic ISP addresses.
