P2MP Nstreme tests Dropped Connections and Throughput

A previous thread had discussed disconnections and re-associations with Nstreme, particularly under load but not always.
I have also seen this problem, and have found Nstreme to be “choppy” even with a good connection. This may be at the core of the issues as I get big drops but in this case no broken links. The units I had trouble with were changed to regular 802 and the problems went away. The disassociation seem to me much more previlent with low signal and or interference.

Platform Clients MT RB411 with R52H
AP 2.2 an 4.2 are RB532 with XR5, 20.254 is RB411A with XR2 XR5’s are on the same tower.
Software 3.6 or higher

As you can see from the screen shot the non Nstreme shot is clean and solid even with more clients. The other NSteme on the same tower has a much poorer performance. This tower is in the middle of know where so there is no interference issues.

I will be sending this and the support.rif to MT.

try with 10Mhz channel

Channel size does not make any difference. All the 900mhz are 5mhz most of the others are 10mhz and the odd 20mhz channel. Nstreme seems to exhibits this problem regardless of settings or rf environment, except in a high interference area it is worse.

You’re comparing 2ghz to 5ghz? How tall is the tower?

Frequency, channel size, location, height, interference, etc. do not make a difference, I have tested on different sites and frequencies to rule out radio cards etc. The site tested at range from 90ft to a 300ft, from out in the boonies to an area with a fair about of canopy gear. The only thing of note is under heavy interference with a load all associated links will disconnect and reconnect with in seconds.

I will be retesting with all unit upgraded to 3.14 at present they range form 3.6 to 3.11

What PSU’s do you use?

/Henrik

Standard POEs 48v for 582’s and 24’s for 411a. Wattage is 18-20 for both types.
