p2p link stable?!?

I use two stx lite 5 and the link is 1.5 km. Use an ftp server and I get download a file from other side at 7.5 MB/sec and a CCQ 100/90.
Is the link accettable? I saw each point from both side but first point is close to some tree.
I use nstream as protocol and frequency is 5180 Mhz.
One stx is configured as bridge and one as station wds. Sxt have different version software.
Thanks.

  1. First use freq usage and choice a frequency with less noice
2.set ap mode = ap bridge and station mode= station bridge
  2. In wireless advance tap sex manually freq tx power you can use from current tx power table
Station wds maybe less your transition
At last test bandwidth from bandwidth test
    Different software not problem.

If I set ap bridge I get error: "license couldn’t change interface wlan1, license does not allow AP mode(6).

Not problem get bridge
Ap device = bridge.
Station device= station bridge

Ok I did, but I get same speed. I try at my home where every antenna point in opposite direction I get 8.3 MB/sec from ftp server and bandwith test I select both I get 50mbit/50mbit.
I disabled wds both device

Use another protocol like 802.11 and other and test it
Set tx power manually 30

I will do some test at the end of the week if possible and post the result.

8.3 MB or 8.3 Mbit/sec ?

8.3 MByte/sec

8.3 MB/sec

Hi Alessio,

8.3MBps is actually not bad, but it depends…

What is received signal strength on both sides and both chains?
Do NOT overpower the radios! Do NOT set manual tx power of 30!

At this distance and with LOS (Line of Sight) it is very possible you need to turn DOWN power.

What channel width are you using? Where are you located? EU? US?

Best regards,

Menno

Why turn down power ?!

Hi Mazyaar,

turning up power is never a good thing, signal will get distorted easily. When signal leaves the radio in a distorted way, CCQ will drop. Best way is : use as little power as possible to achieve best signal.

In case of the SXT Lite5 the sweet spot is around -55 (depending on noise etc.)

So first things first : we need to know what values topicstarter has on local and remote sides.. Again : 8.3MBps is not bad if topicstarter uses 20Mhz channel, but he should be able to max out the ethernet port 1 way.

If topicstarter uses 40Mhz channel, then 8.3MBps 1 way is not so good.. Should be able to max out ethernet port both ways (Rx and Tx simultaneously).

Best regards,

Menno

Hello mennowz,

I get 7.8 - 8 MByte/sec with 20Mhz channel and 10 Mbyte/sec with 40 Mhz. I have two 100 Mbit ethernet port.
My pc and the stx is connected to my router. 100 Mbit port. The other side I connect my stx to laptop an old laptop with 100 mbit port.

I run filezilla ftp server on my pc server and connect to it from a laptop in the other side.
The speed is referred to filezilla file download. If I use winbox bandtwith test with 40 Mhz in udp and select “both” I get 50+50 Mbit. In udp packet loss around 1000.
I should post the screenshot signal. CCQ is near to 100/100 in ftp transfer and in udp bandwith test while drop with tcp bandwith test.
