Does anyone know if RouterOS v6 supports the P420i RAID controller found in many new servers?
I have tried looking for drivers in the linux kernel 3.3.5 which is now in RouterOS version 6 but cannot find any location for controllers included in the kernel.
Can anyone confirm if it works or point me in the right direction within the kernel source files?

As far as I know, RouterOS x86 only supports SATA.
The P420i supports SATA mode but I am unsure if it will work with RouterOS.
It still requires the SCSI subsystem as well as the HPSA Smart Array driver.
Anything more than an On-Board SATA isn’t going to work.

If you were running Debian or RedHat, yes. But this is a very VERY small OS “based on” Linux. That doesn’t mean that it runs the full Linux kernel with all the drivers.
You should have at least one or two SATA ports on the board that you can use. If you really want RAID, use the Free VMware ESXi hypervisor and run RouterOS as a VM.
then you will have full support for all the hardware you want.
for the records, i would say, P420i is supported.
Just installed to an SSD drive onto a DL360p Gen8 server with 4LFF bays.
You also can use the onboard SATA slot (what’s originally for the optical drive) as well. If you need, you can leak the trunk cable powering the hotswap bays, and can use standard SATA power as well.
