Package installation via Winbox, key change error

I’m trying to install a package (calea-4.10-mipsbe.npk) on a RB433AH with RouterOS v4.5 installed. I thought it was possible to just drag the file over to the system/packages window in Winbox to install it, but when I try to do this, I get an error that says “Key Change Error/ Could not change the key - invalid key”. Works fine when I use Netinstall or FTP, I’m just wondering why I get this error when using Winbox, since if it worked, I think it would be the most convenient option for installing packages. I’ve tried other packages as well and have the same problem.

Any thoughts?

  • if you want to install package, drag it to ‘Files’ window
  • if you want to install license key, drag it somewhere into WinBox
  • correct package is incorrect license key
  • if you have ROS v4.5, you can install only v4.5 packages

Problem solved. Dragging the package over to files and rebooting worked, after switching to routeros 4.10. Not sure why I had 4.5 installed in the first place…

Thanks for the response!
