Packet Loss of 30-80% when using SXT G-5HnD for bridging

We recently purchased 2 SXT G-5HnD routers to create a point to point wireless bridge. We have been testing the units at a distance of about 50 yards. The connection seems to be solid. We are using OS 5.17.

Ping <1ms
Bandwith: 50-80mb

However, when we run iperf to test packet loss we get 30-80% loss of packets. We run iperf with the server end at the the bridge and the client end at the station bridge. We are testing with 100m packets.

iperf -u -s 192.168.XXX.XX -b 100m

For our router configurations, the only settings we have altered from the default are:

Bridge/Station bridge
5ghz N Only
Nstreme
Nstreme enabled
40mhz/20mhz above
protocol mode=none (under the bridge tab)

We have tried using different protocols such as 802.11 only ad NV2 with the same results.

We also have a pair ubiquiti nano bridges 5g/25dbi that we use for another point to point wireless bridge. We have run all the exact same tests with them and get 0% packet loss in iperf. Something seems to be seriously wrong, but we can’t figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe you’ve so much power. How much signal do you receive?

You may down it until -55/-60dbm

Simply, upgrade both units to 5.22 and use nv2 if you’re on 5GHz-N-Only.
802.11n and nstreme, together, are not the best combination…
… and, yes, set tx-power-mode to card-rates, and tx-power to 13dB or 11dB on a short distance, like yours…

Cheers
