I have plugged a 60GB USB stick into the back of the Chateau LTE6 router and I am trying to run a packet sniffer continuously with memory scroll enabled. However, it automatically stops running at random moments, and it’s not the memory limit causing the issue. I have run the sniffer 5-6 times, and each time it stops when the file size reaches around 120MB to 130MB. Is there possibly a maximum runtime limit for the sniffer? I haven’t found anything regarding this in the MikroTik documentation.
Has anyone else experienced this issue before? Any help would be much appreciated.
Did you also set full file path in file-name? It must be filename with full path, not just filename, if is just filename .pcap file is created in files root which is on device memory for devices with flash drive.
Yes, I did. full path and /filename at the end.
As soon as I click ‘Start’ I can see that the file is being created in the correct location which is a USB stick.
I just cannot figure out what is causing the packet sniffer to stop running
Idk, if all is configured correct it should work. Chateau LTE6 is very similar to mine Chateau LTE12 and I cannot reproduce the issue, file was grown up to 250Mb on attached USB drive and I stopped sniffer…
