I’m interested in upgrading a WAP R to a netmetal AX (I need a m-PCIe slot), but I am confused as to if my switch will power it via POE. I’m only using 802.3af/at devices currently.
The switch here: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/PoE-Out#PoEOut-PoE-OutModes and in the spec says it supports all modes. However in SWOS the documentation is a little unclear: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=76415036#CRS3xxandCSS32624G2S+seriesManual-PoE.
- What does Low/High voltage actually do? What is low and what is high? Seems I have my devices either at ~52V or ~26V, guess that’s high/low?
- Is passive POE just setting POE in swos to ‘on’ rather than ‘auto’?
